Curt Schilling Gets Canned By ESPN After Another Offensive Social Media Post

NY Daily News

We all know Curt Schilling is an idiot on social media. Just expressing any kind of controversial opinion on Facebook is risky. But when you’re throwing out takes you know are gonna piss literally everyone off, what’s the point of posting? This time Curt went after the transgender community with a little meme, all in fun of course.

First of all, is that Schilling? I’m not saying Curt threw on a wig and squeezed his tits in for this picture, but I’m also not saying he didn’t. Second of all, Schilling also doubled down on his meme by mixing it up in the comment section.

schilling comment

“A man is a man no matter what they call themselves. I don’t care what they are, who they sleep with, men’s room was designed for the penis, women’s not so much. Now you need laws telling us differently? Pathetic.” – Curt Schilling

Now obviously this post is insensitive to the transgender community. I’m not saying I don’t get where Curt’s coming from with the meme, but the image is clearly offensive. Especially when you have a reputation for ruffling feathers on the internet, maybe keep your political views to the dinner table/anonymous reddit comment sections.

But what I really can’t wrap my head around is why Curt deleted the post. Like I said Curt’s an idiot. But deleting controversial takes off social media just makes you look worse. People will obviously screenshot them so they won’t disappear. And deleting is just you admitting you were in the wrong.

So if Curt really wanted to stand by his message, as he does in this blog post, he should’ve left it up. If you’re gonna be that guy, be that guy. Either admit to your mistake or defend yourself. You can’t be hanging in the middle.

And yes Curt still would’ve been fired. But at least he would’ve went out with his dignity intact.
